In my opinion, since a large percentage of Iraqis use modern navigation applications such as Waze and others, and checkpoint locations are now shared among users in real time, the effectiveness of surprise checkpoints deserves careful review and in-depth study. If an ordinary citizen can easily identify checkpoint locations and alter their route accordingly, it is reasonable to question how effective these measures remain in achieving their objectives when dealing with more experienced individuals or those intentionally seeking to avoid security monitoring.
This issue is not raised as criticism, but rather as an effort to explore the most effective ways to enhance security and maximize operational efficiency. Therefore, it is important for specialists and relevant authorities to examine this matter through scientific and professional research, assess the impact of modern navigation applications on the security environment, and evaluate existing strategies in light of rapid technological advancements.
Technology has changed many of the traditional equations, making it essential for tools, methods, and procedures to evolve alongside these developments in order to achieve the intended goals as effectively as possible.
